Regular exercise is essential for our health

Try to incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine. Walking is extremely beneficial. It is easy on our knees and is good to keep our bodies calm. Can be done any where, the mall, around the block on your lunch hour or on a tread mill while watching TV!!

If you can incorporate some cardio, with weight bearing exercise, even better. Weight bearing exercise is very important for women, for the fact we do not create and keep muscle the same as men do. This is the only way to keep our bones healthy. It is also a great way to keep our metabolisms sped up. For every 1 pound of muscle we build, we burn 50 extra calories. Imagine gaining 10 pounds of muscle, and burning an extra 500 calories while sitting everyday.

If you don’t have time to go to the gym. Get those soups cans out of the cupboard and lift them over your head, do curls in front, behind your head, while you are watching tv. Do you have stairs in your house? Climb up and down the stairs until you are tired. Use your imagination. When there is a will there is a way!

Just find something you enjoy, it will keep you motivated to keep going!!
